Made of white earthenware, this pitcher has a decoration applied to slips and a glaze in subtle shades of blue. The evocative shape of the nocturnal bird, combined with Picasso's expressive lines, perfectly illustrates his poetic and playful interpretation of the owl.

Hollow stamps “Madoura Plein Feu” and “after Picasso” on the reverse.
