An antique Black Forest oak wood cabinet. Richly decorated with several antlers from the stag and fallow deer, turned horn ends and figural handcarved horn roses. The front side is glazed. Inside are mounts for 6 rifles. Manufactured in Germany, ca. 1900.

At the beginning of the 19th century the European nobility discovered antler furnishings for their hunting castles and countryseats. The furniture was either manufactured completely from e.g. stag antler, or it was decorated with antler pieces from the stag, deer, fallow deer and others to get a hunting desing. A famous example was the interior design of 'Jagdschloss Platte' (hunting castle Platte) of count William of Nassau near Wiesbaden, Germany in 1825.
