The black-and-white photograph titled Visiting Las Vegas, 1962 offers a snapshot of the vibrant atmosphere in a casino during the early 1960s. The scene captures a row of vintage slot machines, each adorned with signs advertising various jackpots and special promotions. The lighting in the room creates a striking contrast against the darkened corners, giving the image a timeless, almost cinematic feel. In the foreground, a man in a coat and fedora stands focused on a machine, while a woman beside him holds a drink, her sunglasses adding to the air of mystery and style typical of Las Vegas during this era. This photo evokes the excitement of Las Vegas' golden age, highlighting the allure of its casinos and the distinct fashion of the time. Erich Andres was born in Germany in 1905 and passed away in 1992. He began his career as a photographer in 1920 and was one of the first to use a Leica camera. Today, his work is exhibited in several museums, including the Civil War Museum in Salamanca, Spain, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, and the Industrial Museum in Oberhausen, Germany. In 1951, Andres contributed to Edward Steichen's iconic exhibition "The Family of Man" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This print is available as a Fine Art Print on high-quality paper (Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta) and is produced by Whitewall. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
