Antique end of the 19th century genuine and superb Louis Vuitton "Malle Courrier" or steamer trunk, large size, rare and sought after tissé or woven monogram canvas, silver color metal bound and side handles with brass studs, reinforced with wooden laths, with wheels to the base .Its handles are stamped LV\.
It has got a very warm and lively look thanks to its patinated by time woven canvas.
Its main lock, made of solid brass is stamped Louis Vuitton, as well as all its brass studs . Its lock number is stamped. Its traveling labels as well as its customized hand painted side stripes on its side add a genuine personal touch to this very special Vuitton trunk.
Its interior has been relined a while ago with a beige fabric as well as its quilting under its lid . So, it is rather clean and you can used it for storage.
Louis Vuitton brand tag and serial number are on the internal side of the cover .
It is in overall good condition but please note that its canvas is gently worned and show signs of fading here and then as shown on photo\.This is what gives to this magnificent Vuitton trunk its so special personality.
It could be used as a perfect coffee table, a side table or a blanket box and would add a touch of elegance in all types of interiors. This piece has an attribution mark,
