An elegant set of six late 19th-century dining chairs crafted in the Louis XVI style, sourced from Provence, France. Each chair features a hand-carved frame with a tall, square-shaped cane back and is finished in creamy antique white paint that showcases a naturally aged patina, enhanced by characterful distressed details. The chairs have been structurally restored and newly upholstered in luxurious green velvet fabric, cleanly finished with matching welt trim. The original hand-woven cane backs is in good condition, showing normal wear consistent with age and use, including a few minor string breaks that are barely noticeable. Supported by gracefully tapered, fluted legs with toupie feet, the chairs are further decorated with delicately carved rosettes on the front corners, highlighted in gold leaf—a hallmark of the Louis XVI style. This set is solid, stable, and showcases exceptional joinery and craftsmanship, embodying the timeless elegance of a traditional French Louis XVI profile.
