Pic Nic Allee (2000)
Offset Photolitograph (90x70 cm) from A Portfolio of Landscapes and Figures printed on Royal Consort Paper by Steidl Verlag for Brancolini Grimaldi, Florence, 2006
Limited Edition : No. 74 (120 copies), numbered and credited in ink artist's credit stamp on verso.
On July 14, 2000, giant picnics are organized everywhere in France to celebrate the French national day and the 21st Century. Famous for his photographs of Italian beaches, Massimo Vitali installs his wooden chamber “Deardorff” on a seven meter high stand off the Luxembourg garden, Paris, to take what is certainly one of his most iconic photograph. This Offset Photolitograph, numbered 74 on 120, comes from the very rare Landscapes with Figures portfolio.
