A stunning, rare and very early Danish vintage teak sofa / day bed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. This was made in Denmark by France and Daverkosen, it dates from the early 1950’s.
It is of superb quality and is extremely comfortable with the original thick, sprung cushions. The teak frame is beautifully crafted, it sits on lovely tapered legs and has a lovely backrest with a chrome support. The legs and backrest can unbolt and detach for ease of transport, so this virtually flat packs.
We have had the frame stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, it is in superb condition throughout. The sprung cushions have been re-upholstered in a cream boucle fabric. The condition is superb throughout.
