Father of the famous architect Gordon Matta-Clark, Sebastian was … more Roberto Sebastian Matta–Clark was a 20th century painter, printmaker and architect. Father of the famous architect Gordon Matta-Clark, Sebastian was an important protagonist of Surrealism and with his work paved the way for American Abstract Expressionism.
His works explore visionary worlds and interior landscapes that refer to the human psyche and unconscious. Use strong, contrasting hues to amplify the sense of mystery, creating visual tension.
The lithographs presented reproduce his imagination and his reflections on the subconscious. Inside an original folder, you can find 5 lithographs made in 1976 measuring 50x70 cm, printed on arches paper for "Edizioni della Pergola". Out of 75 print runs, those presented are copy no. 44. They all have the signature at the bottom right and the print run numbering at the bottom left.
