until he immigrated to the usa because of his jewish origins, he was active at the bauhaus weimar. Here he created icons such as the b3 (wassily) club chair or the cesca chair. In the usa he founded the architecture faculty at harvard university together with walter gropius. Breuer died in new york in 1981.

marcel breuer created this iconic armchair in 1928. A special stylistic element of this bauhaus classic is the s-curve in the upper part of the chair. Constructed according to the principle of “arc-swing-counter-swing”, in which all curves of the steel tube find their counterpart. The technology harmoniously combines dynamism and lightness.
