- Vintage Chinese bamboo wood box with decorative painting around the body, newly turned into a lamp. These bamboo boxes were … more Vintage Chinese bamboo wood box with decorative painting around the body, newly turned into a lamp. These bamboo boxes were used circa 1900 to store food, and the top of this box actually still rotates. The former box which is now the base of the lamp is full of rich browns and deep red colors. A bronze stem and harp have been added, and the new off white linen drum shade comes with this piece. It has been hard wired on a brown silk cord and is ready for use. less
