Monica borrowed the title for this painting from one of her favorite poems by Mary Oliver titled "Fresh the Flowers, She Said". Monica takes a lot of inspiration from elements of the natural world.

Monica Shulman is a New York-based artist whose tells stories through her brand of gestural abstraction. Her work is rooted in the traditions of abstract expressionism and she describes her world as colorful and rhythmic. Monica's paintings reflect an evolving universe where communication is less concrete.
