The series “Beneath the Surface” is comprised of spontaneous, unposed images of obscured motion which convey a strong sense of urgency. The movement of water and the imperfect shapes of bodies beneath the surface project an almost abstract image of reality. The goal is to call forth the emotions and perceptions that flourish through memory and dreams. Memories, and certainly dreams, are not always precise images, but instead deformed emotional records; imperfect, distorted, momentary.
