A rare, exceptional set of 10 Dresden porcelain plates by noted ceramicist Carl Thieme. Fluted with scalloped edge decorated with gilt design. Each plate has a unique, hand painted floral design. Mark indicates late 1800s to early 1900s.
In 1864, Carl-Johann Gottlob Thieme opened a porcelain and antique shop in Dresden. He was also running a porcelain painting business. In September 1872 he established a porcelain factory named Sächsische Porzellan-Fabrik Carl Thieme zu Potschappel. less
