A Good Quality, Late 18th Century, George III Period Mahogany Bowfronted Dressing Table, Of Good Rich Colour Throughout, Having Well Figured Top, Over One Long And Two Short Drawers with Replacement Brass Knobs To Elegant Arched Frieze with Ebonised Strung Decoration, Raised On Ring Turned Tapering Legs.
A well proportioned late 18th century dressing table which is constructed using good quality, rich mahogany timbers and in combination with the attractive ebonised strung decoration this creates a lovely, decorative look.
Despite being replacements the brass knobs sit extremely well on the table and are probably as old as the table themselves so very much in keeping and natural on the piece.
Of course despite being described as a dressing table this antique table would also suit a huge variety of other purposes around the home and is effectively actually a very attractive georgian side table.
Overall the condition is very good with just a few minor, historic old marks and scratches as one would expect to find on an item of this age. These have now blended in with the overall patina of the piece of course and therefore there is no significant defects of any kind worthy of special mention.
As with all items which we offer for sale this piece has been inspected and attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled, trained specialist antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale to ensure it is in its best possible condition before being offered for sale.
