In the 1930s, Shanghai, China was swept up in the Art Deco design movement, permeating every part of life in the bustling, vibrant city. This stylized table is a product of the time and exemplifies the qualities that make Art Deco so sought after: simple lines, striking colors, and bold geometric shapes. Constructed of hand-carved rosewood, the stepped legs of the table support a circular panel of swirling black-and-white marble, held together by traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery.
