Very rare seascape by Jules-René HERVE which turns out to be a special order from a sea enthusiast who had ordered to the artist 2 paintings to decorate his interior (see last photo in situ), I keep the second one for my own collection for the moment.
For this reason, it is a unique theme in the work of Jules-René HERVÉ, which is also large format !!
A real opportunity to seize especially as it is the charming Breton port of Camaret sur Mer !
This painting has been viewed on photo by Langres museum (France), specialized in Jules-Rene HERVÉ artwork.
Born in 1887 in Langres, in eastern France, Jules-René HERVÉ moved to Paris in 1908 to study at the School of Decorative Arts. He had his first exhibition in 1910 at the Salon des Artistes Français. He was a pupil of Fernand Cormon. He then taught other artists from 1911 to 1943. He won numerous medals (gold medal for French artists in 1925 - gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1937...)
His paintings are exhibited in many museums around the world: Annecy Museum of Fine Arts, Chicago Art Institute, Dahesh Art Museum in New York, Langres Museum of Art and History, Museum of Fine Arts of Tourcoing, Museum of Fine Arts of Saint-Étienne ... It is highly sought after by collectors, especially in the United Kingdom and the USA where its post-Impressionist touch and delicate colors are particularly appreciated.
Jules-René HERVÉ is sold by important galleries all over the world.
