This fun and unique pair of male and female Modern Chinoiserie Chic Foo Dogs/Shishi Guardian Lions will bring peace and harmony to your abode and not let any forms of negative energy pass.
These highly detailed mythical protectors have been refreshed in an eye-catching Hermés orange gloss finish. They are striking and the perfect modern, bold, color pop for any interior space. Both lions are in seated poistion with fluffy tails, open mouths with slightly turned raised heads, displayed on ornate pedestal bases. Their fierce appearance is believed to guard against evil spirits. A true pair features both the male and female. The left side statue represents Yin force, female, negative, take, carry a cub. The right side statue represents Yang force, male, positive, bring, carry a ball. The male lions paw rests on a sphere which represents the world or the home. The female has a playful cub under her foot, representing the cycle of life or a home's inhabitants.
They are a sign of power and believed to have protective qualities. Protectors of the Dharma they are traditionally seen at the entrances to temples and palaces. In Tibet this pair of male and female creatures are known as Snow Lions and are a composite of the Dog, Lion and Dragon.
