This celebrated and coveted poster was created by Jasper Johns to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1980. For subject matter he returned to the American flag and produced a boldly colored double image which retains and reveals the hand of the artist in the laborious process of its creation.
