The man is portrayed as in the Arab tradition with the folds of the tunic which have been skilfully reproduced by the artist's hand who leaves nothing to idealistic transfigurations and faithfully reports the visual data. The drapery has a strong plastic connotation given the strong chiaroscuro that can be seen in raking light. The woman is also represented with traditional clothing and has the same sculptural qualities as the man. On the back there is the artist's signature and the inventory number. Provenance: 19th century France. Conditions: Excellent state of preservation Measurements: 30x20 H45cm. Document: Certificate of Authenticity. less
