Kazuhide Takahama was born in Miyazaki-Ken, Japan, on April 1, 1930. He graduated in architecture in Tokyo and began working in the same city in the office of Kazuo Fuioka. At the age of 27, he carried out the Japanese exhibition for the XI Milan Triennial, where he met Dino Gavina, between whom a mutual understanding was established almost instantly, despite the lack of a common language. A few years passed and Takahama, a lover of Europe, decided to move to Bologna to work with Gavina.
