Description: Vintage river water scene photograph circa 1975 in original vintage black wood frame with matte and covered in glass. The … more Vintage river water scene photograph circa 1975 in original vintage black wood frame with matte and covered in glass. The back of the frame reveals this was a birthday present in 1975. It is wired and ready to hang. Measurements of the image is 9.5”W x 7.75” H. Size with frame is 13.5”W x .75” D x 15” H.
The back of the photo reads This Paper Manufactured by Kodak. Kodak used this logo from 1972 and up until the early 1990s. During the 1970s the chemicals used in photography would yellow the photo and sometimes cause fine crazing. This photo has both which makes it appear older than it is. The photo paper used during that time was glossy. This is glossy paper (see photos). Although it seems the photographer intended for the photo to be hazy as there appears to be fog in the background. It has a feeling much like the early works of photography by Joyce Tenneson. It is not by her however, because I asked her. She said it was not her work but agreed it has a similar feeling as some of her art.
