Hand painted scene of a Japanese Zen Master with his student in a garden setting. This silk haori was a wealthy man's jacket. In Japan it was illegal for men to display their wealth, so they decorated the inside back panel of their jackets. The exterior is black satin silk with the family crest. You can wear this jacket, but a rare piece like this is a treasures and is best displayed as a work of art. Measures 51" across along the top of the sleeve.
