- This marvelous pair of antique covered urns are created in gorgeous white porcelain with gold gilt design by the Art … more This marvelous pair of antique covered urns are created in gorgeous white porcelain with gold gilt design by the Art Department of Rosenthal Germany. These highly stylized Neoclassical urns have ram's head handles ending with hoofed feet on a pedestal base. Rams heads typically symbolize strength and resilience in Greek mythology. There are beautiful floral medallions on the front and back, exquisitely hand painted. Each lid has a spherical top. There is an abundance of gold gilt outlining all edges. Backstamp on bottom reads: Rosenthal with a crown over crossed swords, Germany, Kunstabtelung [translates to Art Department], Selb. One urn has the initials "MK." Measurements for these fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom including lids: 10-1/2 inches, Width at widest=7 inches. This marvelous pair of covered urns have been well cared for, gently displayed and are in excellent antique condition, free from chips, cracks, discoloration or other imperfections. All gold gilt is intact without losses. They are perfect for mantel or table display, particularly if you like very neoclassical decor! less
