Multi-material work logogrifo colorato by ezio gribaudo. Origin italy period 1966 author ezio gribaudo (1929-2022) was an italian artist, publisher and graphic designer. Trained in brera and at the polytechnic of turin, he collaborated with artists such as chagall and fontana. Famous for his 'logogriffs,' white reliefs which won him the prize at the 1966 venice biennale, gribaudo published important art monographs and organized major exhibitions. His works are exhibited in international museums such as moma and the peggy guggenheim collection. In 2003 he received the gold medal for meritorious culture and art. Model the 'logogrifi' are a series of artistic works created by ezio gribaudo in the 1960s, characterized by the use of white monochromatic reliefs. These works, often referred to as 'relief paintings', are made with a relief printing technique that creates complex, three-dimensional textures, giving the surfaces a sculptural effect. The logogriffs represent gribaudo's experimental and personal artistic language, in which texture and surface become protagonists, rather than color or figurative representation. The works are composed of symbols, letters and abstract shapes that seem to suggest enigmas or visual games, and this reference to the enigma is inherent in the term 'logogriphs,' which refers to word games or complex riddles. Thanks to these innovative works, gribaudo received the prize for graphics at the 1966 venice biennale, consolidating his prominent role in contemporary art.
