Each series of lithographs is characterized by strong symbolism and the fusion between spiritual and cultural elements.
In the “Le Feu Vert” series Lam represents hybrid figures that mix human and animal aspects, with bright colors and a strong attention to lines and shapes. This collection represents an example of surrealist influence combined with his personal style, inspired by Afro-Cuban mythology. The series is made up of 6 lithographs made in 1972 and are collected in an original folder with a presentation written by Serigrafia Montali of Milan inside. They were created by the author for “Edizioni d’Arte Torcular”. Out of 100 print runs, those presented are the 100th copies, on pure rag paper from the Cartiere Magnani of Pescia.
They all have signature at the bottom right and edition numbering at the bottom left. The measurements of the prints are 50x70 cm. The plates were destroyed after printing
