This is a high credenza or buffet, crafted in Italy by Paolo Buffa in the 1950s. The piece has a rectangular structure with vertical slatted wood doors featuring alternating dark and lighter wood tones, adding a subtle striped effect. The legs are long, tapering, and end in brass-capped feet, providing an elevated stance for the cabinet. Each door is equipped with a circular brass keyhole, along with a distinctive round key handle. The interior reveals shelving on one side and drawers on the other, providing organized storage space. The craftsmanship and design details, such as the precise woodwork and minimalistic brass accents, highlight mid-century Italian design aesthetics. Paolo Buffa was an influential Italian architect and designer active mainly in the mid-20th century. Born in 1903, he became known for his refined, elegant furniture that merged traditional Italian craftsmanship with modern design principles. Buffa’s work often featured high-quality materials and intricate detailing, gaining popularity among Italy’s elite. He collaborated with skilled artisans, such as cabinetmaker Mario Quarti, and designed for renowned Milanese manufacturers. Buffa’s style was versatile, blending neoclassical and Art Deco influences with functionalist aesthetics, making his pieces timeless and distinctive. He passed away in 1970, leaving a lasting legacy in Italian design history. Very good condition and very good investment. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
