This is a working dining car lamp based on the famous Orient Express train that ran between Paris and Istanbul. The brass lamp has an adjustable shade that slides up and down the brass rod in the back over a glass hurricane designed to accommodate standard-size bulbs (not included). The lamp is in working order and measures approximately 20 inches in height, 10 inches in width, and 10 inches in depth. The brass base features a scrolled design with lion's paw feet. There is a green metal label on the stem that reads "Orient Express Paris Istanbul". This circa 1970s lamp would be perfect on a desk, console, mantel, or even nestled in a bookshelf next to your favorite mystery novels. It would also be a great gift for fans of Agatha Christie and detective Hercule Poirot in Murder on the Orient Express. less
