This table an exquisite example of parquetry and marquetry artistry. The combination of figurative and geometric woodworking techniques add to the preciousness of this handcrafted late 1800's piece. There is a little drawer that measures 6.25" X 10". The base is has delicate bands of parquetry inlaid into the turned center column and tripod feet with a bottom finial. This table would make a great addition to a variety of settings with it's balance of detailed complexity and elegant simplicity.
Italian, circa 1880's
29.25" H X 27.5" dia.
Materials and Techniques: A variety of woods including Walnut and Ebony. Marquetry, Parquetry, Turned Wood.
Condition: This piece is in good condition showing signs of wear consistent with age and use including: shrinkage, rubbing and surface oxidization.
