Dovetail construction, strong hinges, original hardware. Closes smartly with a nice weight.

And, particularly appealing, then interior is immaculate with a subtle and charming whitewash paint finish.

The entire package seems period original and crisp.

Traditional size at 37.5" wide by 18.25" tall by 16" deep.

Perfect for end-of bed, coffee or side table, as storage or case goods in a mud room, or under a hall or sofa table for layering.

We have a weakness for case goods, particularly trunks. So much so that my husband has a stack of trunks in his home office because of the textures and colors they often bring.

This is perhaps the cleanest. most universally useful on we've seen in years. It comes from a very fine Virginia home with a history of travel, so we expect it is either a very well cared-for heirloom or a fine discovery on a trip abroad.
