Oil on canvas artwork of great pictorial quality depicting a wonderful Madonna. The author is to be found in the circle or among the followers of Antonio Allegri known as Correggio (1489-1534), lacking authentication. Note the masterful use of the sfumato technique, the refinement of the chromatic palette, the extreme elegance of the drapery of the dress. Scenic 19th century frame in carved and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. Painting already restored with re-lining, replacement of the frame and re-colouring in small spots. Overall in excellent condition. Sight size H 35 x W 27 cm. less
