A beautiful example is this gilt bronze jardiniere with liner, which dates to the early 1900s. Notice the undulations and counter curves of the foliate rinceau that give the jardiniere its sweeping form. At the apex, the rinceau forms a pair of open handles. There are numerous other pierced motifs seen throughout the jardiniere, such as the scalloped leaf cartouche beneath each handle and the whorled leaves at the bottom of the longer sides.
