The bronze depicts the Buddha in a protection pose, the statue is shown seated on a lotus flower throne, with remnants of gilded decoration & a four character mark to the rear base of the statue, the bronze is in very good antique condition, the bronze weighs 6lbs.

This depiction of a seated Buddha with the right hand raised and facing outwards has two common meanings. The first is that of the Protection Buddha, as the raised right hand symbolically represents a shield.
