It was an inspirational image for a perfume under the Regaud name for a fragrance called "Feerie", the French word for "fairyland" or "enchantment". It was to captivate the imagination of women seeking escape from the harsh realities of the time. It captures a magical, dreamy whimsy of elegance and allure. It is youthful, uplifting and refreshing. This is a RARE image as it had limited circulation at the time. Jean-Gabriel Domergue's works are highly collectible and are sold at international galleries and auctions. He is best known as a French painter of portraits of women from the 1920s-1930s. He painted over 3000 images of aristocratic Parisian women.
