Gorgeous (perhaps important) chair in need of restoration and repair:

- Several joints are lose and need re-gluing
- Finish is mainly intact except for some moderate scaling and bubbling on the rear
- an inadequate repair was performed at some point that will need to be corrected (see images)
- not sprung; cushioning likely horsehair resting on jute burlap cloth

Construction is fine and dainty. Legs are extremely slender. Primarily mortise and tenon throughout. Species is either maple or cherry wood.

Original adhesive appears to be hide-glue, with a single modern repair using PVA. Finish is original; likely shellac or a traditional resin varnish.
