This marvelous 17th Century style Louis XVI figurine is created in gorgeous bronze gold gilt metal, white bisque porcelain and is on a tan to black marble base. This beautiful figure is of a Marquise, who was married to a marquis, a title of nobility and shows her getting ready for the big ball, with a small table, topped by a jewelry box nearby. A lovely gold metal beaded necklace is held gently. The plaque on the front reads: "Marquise Par Grisard." There is a foundry label stamped on the skirt that reads: " Fabrication Francaise, Made in France" and the artist' signature "Grisard."
This beautiful figure was most likely made in the later 19th/early 20th Century. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom=13 inches, Base diameter=7 inches. This marvelous 17th Century style figurine has been well cared for, gently displayed and is in excellent vintage condition, free from chips, cracks, scratches or other imperfections. It is the perfect addition to your collection, particularly if you like the Louis XVI style! less
