This boarded chest with its primitive decoration and surmounted section to the top appears to be custom made to meet the needs of the original owner. The wood is difficult to identify from the images though it appears to be a softwood. It has an attractive color and patina. First hand inspection is recommended. It possibly has a stain / faux grain finish to the surfaces and possibly includes pen work. It is probably American though it has European influences. less
