The chair frames are beautiful and … more This is a really lovely pair of vintage faux bamboo Chinese Chippendale side chairs. The chair frames are beautiful and sturdy, but the seats are stained and will need to reupholstered.

The chairs feature solid cherry construction, faux bamboo carvings, Chinese Chippendale style fretwork backs, tapered legs supported by H stretchers, and accented with corner braces. The padded seats are upholstered in an off-white herringbone tweed that is stained and should be replaced. The chairs do not carry a brand label, but they are comparable to chairs by McGuire, Century, and Baker.

The mid-20th century vintage chair frames are in very good vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The frames are sturdy, and the cherry wood finish is richly colored and finely carved. The upholstery is in fair condition, as there is staining and discoloration.

Each chair measures 37.5" tall, 19.25" wide, and 20" deep with a seat height of 18.25 inches. less
