With tasteful embellishments of brass on the pure marble surface, this Charles X mantel clock is restrained and most attractive. The timepiece is distinctly architectural in form, a piece inspired by the classical Greek structures so revered during the period. The squared form is softened by the four round tapering columns. The Roman numeral clock face is set inside a decorative brass bezel. This clock would make a distinct impression on a darker contrasting mantel or console table.
