Large three-pass cabaret bowl in the shape of three open shell halves, volute-shaped waves crowned by a fully sculpted dolphin … more Large three-pass cabaret bowl in the shape of three open shell halves, volute-shaped waves crowned by a fully sculpted dolphin in the centre, richly decorated with aquatic plants and fish in vivid colours, blue meander border, gold highlights and gold rims, blue feather leaf decoration on the underside of the bowles. The decor 'poisson', po is one of the older designs from the herend porcelain manufactory and is reminiscent of its far eastern roots in its depiction of colored fish. Stylized aquatic plants in light and dark green alternate with blooming flowers, with black, brick-red, pink and gold fish swimming in between. The enchanting, colorful and playful decor attracted a lot of attention, including that of a duke of windsor, who ordered a dinner service for 24 people with this decor in the 19th century.
