A stunning antique English desk / table or Jewelry box dating to the Regency period c.1820, now over 200 years old.
The Rosewood is inset with highly decorative cut brass inlay, all intact. The box opens (complete with working key) to reveal a drop down leather pocket inset into the lid; perfect for papers and letters.
The interior of the box has been more recently re-lined in a hand-marbled paper, completely in keeping. The pin to the front is removed, allowing for the drawer underneath to be opened using the flush campaign style brass handle.
The box is in excellent condition with minor (stable) fine veener grain hairlines (mentioned and shown purely for accuracy). 9 3/4" x 8 1/2" x 4".
