The Chand uruli box consist of 3 main sections, the uruli bowl, the concave copper dish and the stone dish, each playing a part in defining the chand series. We begin with the uruli bowl, a traditional vessel typically used for offerings to God, adorning the exquisite bowl is a sleek, concave copper dish that serves as lid that elevates the uruli’s versatility. When the dish glides open along the uruli’s curvature, it elegantly mirrors the moon's phases, adding a poetic touch to the design. This sophisticated interplay of form and function creates a luxurious container for treasured heirlooms or personal artefacts, embodying both utility and opulence.
Enhancing its celestial theme, the Chand uruli is complemented by a hand-crafted granite or marble dish, adding an element of natural elegance to the ensemble. The juxtaposition of polished copper and finely carved stone creates a harmonious balance, making it a centerpiece that captivates and enchants.
The positioning of the stone dish allows for two main dispositions of the piece, when placed below representing the poornachandra or the full moon accentuating the glaborous skin of the copper bowl and, dish against the cold sensual touch of the dish, and the other where the dish is placed in between the bowl and the dish, representing the Grahanam, the eclipse, where the precise shine of the copper dish distinctively arcs around the stone dish, tempering it luminosity.
This uruli bowl comes in the polish striations, where the hand of the master craftsman skilfully bends the copperware producing defined polished ridges accentuating the curvature of the piece, thus delivery a more contemporary feel.
Each copper concave dish, which acts like as a lid for the box, is hand spun, and has the indelible "artisans signature", a remanent of their work and knowledge, making no two pieces the same.
The Makrana white marble dish, fashioned from an illustrious historical reference, the very stone that graces the iconic Taj Mahal, as no two stone pieces can ever have the same grain, making it truly unique and will only belong to you. Marble, sourced from the ancient quarries of Rajasthan, is celebrated for its pure, milky white appearance and unparalleled durability. This marble, which has stood the test of time in one of the world's most magnificent monuments, the Taj Mahal, symbolizes eternal beauty and craftsmanship. Each piece of Makrana Marble carries a legacy of royal architecture and artistic excellence, making it a prized material for any luxury decor.
This hand-carved stone dish is meticulously shaped to feature a round, concave form, enhanced by two elegantly carved grooves on the top and one on the bottom that allows the uruli box or the dish to sit in any of its dispositions embodying both functionality and aesthetic grace.
This uruli is not merely a decor piece; it is a tribute to the moon’s influence on time, rituals, and spirituality. Every curve and contour reflect a dedication to high design, making it a timeless addition to any refined space.
Note: Since each piece is handmade, be it annealing the copper sheets or selecting the stone section and the chiselling work, each is unique and is dependent on the artists hand and perception, the product images reflect a single piece by an artist, do expect variations in the overall finished work. less
