Description: Offered for your consideration, this faithfully reproduced American Georgian style drop leaf dining table, hand crafted from solid mahogany. This … more Offered for your consideration, this faithfully reproduced American Georgian style drop leaf dining table, hand crafted from solid mahogany. This piece takes its design cues from similar tables produced in Boston, New York, and Philadelphia circa the mid 18th century. Notable are the cabriole legs with shell carved knees that terminate with “hairy paw” feet. Although unmarked, it is constructed in the manner of period tables and the craftsmanship is comparable to the finest colonial reproductions on today’s market. It features a three board top, (horizontal section and leaves are each a constructed from a single plank) wooden hinged legs, and hand fitted joinery. It is as sturdy as it is beautiful and when fully extended this table will seat a comfortable four or cozy six.
