Renaissance / Early Baroque. Made in 1691 in oak wood. Until recently, the chest was owned for 333 years by a family of lawyers from Lower Saxony, originally from Königsberg. The front shows four arcades with floral carvings. Original working lock with key. Great age patina. The lid has been reinforced on the inside with additional wood. The front left stand is more worn, causing the chest to tilt slightly.
