This Galileo statue is an exact replica of the real statue outside the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh. It’s made of cold cast bronze (resin) with a dark bronze finish. The front of the base reads “Galileo” and the back “100 - The Carnegie Centennial - 1895-1995 - The Carnegie Institute 1995“.

It measures 8.5" tall by 5.5" wide by 8" deep, and weighs 6.25 lbs.

The real statue was created by Scottish-American sculptor John Massey Rhind in the early 1900's and was meant to symbolize the advancements in science. A terrific statue of Galileo for your bookshelf or desktop. less
