Charming artisan made natural shell wall mirror. Fabricated primarily of the the Rose Petal Tellin, (Eurytellina lineata) shell found in shallow, fine sand coastal waters. Small shells of other varieties adorn the larger shells and provide a border for the mirror. Written on back: 5/31/80 but this piece appears much older. We wonder if it was originally a picture frame of an earlier vintage which was repurposed at a later date to be a wall mirror. The double depth of backing to the piece might suggest such a provenance.
Dimensions: overall, 8.5" W x 1.75"D x 11"H; mirror, 3.5"w X 6"H.
Condition: 1 shell missing at bottom, 1 repaired shell at top, back row (hidden).
