Pair of charming Mexican glazed terra cotta rectangular baking pans. Colored in the hues of the Mexican flag (red, green, & white), they are often referred to as Bandera redware from the city of Tlaquepaque in the Jalisco state of Mexico. Artisan crafted piece of terracotta, red clay formed by hand and then painting with scenes / symbols of everyday life. The explosion of the Mexican tourism trade in the mid 20thC resulted in a similar spike in the fabrication of these pieces. We believe these to be from that era. Perfect to use as intended, to display, or to wrangle mail and paperwork in the office or entry. No maker's marks.
