Takatori ware is a type of Japanese pottery that originated in Fukuoka Prefecture. Known for its “Kirei-sabi” aesthetic, pioneered by tea master Kobori Enshu in the 17th century, Takatori ware has a history that spans over 400 years. The pottery's delicate and refined designs have made it highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
This round-shape water jar is decorated in Takatori-ware's elusive natural ash and iron glazes which create a flowing landscape on the surface. Made by Kamei Rakuzan, this wonderful piece is sure to captivate and accentuate the atmosphere of any space or tea gathering. Kintsugi repair to one ear, no lacquer / ceramic lid. Original signed box included.
