Description: The 1/2 carat diamonds in these Victorian earrings are stunning—their Old European Cut large facets make for lovely, bright diamonds … more The 1/2 carat diamonds in these Victorian earrings are stunning—their Old European Cut large facets make for lovely, bright diamonds with lots of sparkle, enhanced by the openwork in the 10k gold setting that allows light to shine through all sides of the stones. The dangle earrings consist of star-shaped element topped with scrolls that resemble a shooting star or a blooming flower. Below it dangles a crownlike carriage with six prongs that alternate with half-prongs, creating windows to see the diamonds from the side. When viewed from the bottom, the prongs come to a circular shape that appears floral in design. The 10k gold has a lovely warm patina and rosy hue.

The natural antique diamonds measure 4.75 mm and are approximately 1/2 carat each, for a combined weight of approximately 1 carat. They are G-H in color and VS2/SLI in clarity.

The earrings measure 3/4” from the top of the wire to the bottom of the earrings (1/2” from the top of the embellishment to the bottom of the earring). Combined, the earrings weigh 1.65 grams. Unmarked but acid test as 10k. The earrings have a secure clasp that is hidden behind the dangle—and are so comfortable you could sleep in them.
