The walnut frames are raised on turned ebony legs. This pair of armchairs has been fully restored and stripped back to the solid walnut frames for upholstery with a new coil spring base, with hessian lining and calico coverings added before being finished in princeton blue stripe ticking upholstery. French, circa 1880.
