Beautiful chest of drawers topped with an African onyx top

This chest of drawers bears the stamp of “Mon Krieger Ameublement Paris” on the uprights and on the lock.

Traces of break-in on the drawers (the wood is crushed), missing on one side, traces of use and old restorations to the marble

Maison Krieger was created in 1826 by Antoine Krieger and his brother Nicolas in premises at 17, rue Saint-Nicolas in Paris.
It initially distinguished itself in the cabinetmaking activity, with the production of luxury furniture, inspired by the creations of the masters of previous centuries and with an unprecedented manufacturing quality, before developing a department dedicated to decoration
His original creations, notably for the Universal Exhibitions, enabled him to win awards, notably a 2nd class medal in London in 1852.
His successors continued to use his brand after his death, his workshop becoming the company "Antoine Krieger et Compagnie".
